F*ck That Dragon
I did it.
I slayed the dragon.
I shot an arrow right through its beating heart.
The problem with slaying dragons is: it’s hard. Really hard. Like a monumental task. Think of the hardest thing you have ever confronted and overcome.
The overcome part is crucial. You have to have won the battle. Won the war. Take home all the glory.
You have to prevail against the odds. Against all odds. You have to have believed that you could not do it. That the task was impossible. That you would never come out on top. Secure the victory. Rise above the challenge.
Think of this thing.
Maybe it was getting out of bed this morning. Maybe that was overcoming all the odds for you. Maybe it was landing that job, scoring that partner, getting that promotion, buying that property, building that business, earning that degree, overcoming that obsession, going on that vacation, writing that particular book, developing this bit of code, losing X number of pounds, reading X number of books, understanding that philosophy; or something else.
You got it, in your mind, this thing you overcame? This challenge you defeated? This foe that you vanquished?
It was hard, wasn’t it?
