Here’s Some Chatter
I can’t blame her.
It’s not that there’s not reasons. There’s always reasons to be had. None of us have to look very far to find reasons to blame other people for our own problems, to pawn them off on somebody else; make it their problem.
Make them the enemy.
But I can’t blame her for this.
For him.
For his behavior. For his choices. For his dysfunction and near complete disability. I can’t blame her for his inability to do anything other than eat, sleep, shit, and shower. It’s not her fault he is unable to leave the house. She is not the one preventing him from leaving his bedroom. She did not force him into indolency. She is not the reason he is unable to withstand the slightest expectation placed upon him. She is not the reason he is unable to confront even the mildest challenge.
There are reasons, of course.
But that would not be fair.
Because that is not how the world works, as far as I understand it, as far as many others have understood under the same circumstances.
We are each and every one of us on this planet responsible for our own outcomes, barring, of course, extenuating circumstances, as in, for example, my niece who is disabled from low intelligence, a function of nature, a random but…
