According to Norse mythology, Odin is known as the All-Father, the king of the gods, and the god of wisdom, poetry, war, and death. One of the most famous stories about Odin is how he lost his eye, which is closely tied to his search for knowledge and wisdom.
The story goes that Odin had a thirst for knowledge and wanted to gain wisdom from the Well of Wisdom, which was located beneath the roots of the world tree, Yggdrasil. Odin traveled to the well and found that it was guarded by a giant named Mimir, who demanded that Odin pay a price for the knowledge he sought.
