Why You Should Study Abroad: The Loch Ness Monster
I was filled with excitement when I was accepted to study abroad in Scotland for a semester in college. The land of kilts, bagpipes, and breathtaking landscapes awaited me. Little did I know that my time in the mystical Scottish Highlands would become a thrilling and unforgettable adventure.
As I settled into my new life in Inverness, I was captivated by the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. My newfound friends and I decided to embark on a weekend trip to explore the famous Loch Ness. Despite the many legends surrounding the Loch Ness Monster, or “Nessie,” I had never given much thought to the possibility of actually encountering the mythical creature.
On a cool Saturday morning, we set out on our adventure to the shores of Loch Ness. As we approached, a dense fog enveloped the area, giving the loch an eerie and mystical atmosphere. We hiked along the shoreline, marveling at the stunning scenery as the fog danced around us.
We reached a quiet cove and decided to take a break. We sat on the rocks, enjoying some sandwiches and sharing stories. Suddenly, the water started to ripple, and I saw a strange shadow moving beneath the surface. At first, I thought it was just a fish or an oddly-shaped log, but the shadow grew larger and more distinct.
